Koppert continues expansion in North America

Koppert is active in more than 100 countries worldwide, operating in 34 countries through its subsidiaries and reaching others via an extensive network of distributors. Koppert offers nearly 120 natural solutions, along with a wide range of complementary crop protection products. In North America, producers will benefit from an expansion plan at Koppert's operational centers—an ambitious initiative aimed at ensuring a precise and reliable supply of natural enemies and pollinators.

Regional research and development to open new markets
Koppert operates the largest bumblebee production facilities on the continent in the United States and Mexico, where it produces three species native to North America: Bombus impatiens, B. huntii, and B. vosneszenski. In Canada, a new distribution center has been established, increasing storage capacity and the availability of hives. This infrastructure supports the entire North American market, enabling a more agile response to the demand for bumblebee hives for crop pollination in greenhouses, macro tunnels, and open fields across the region.

Koppert is also producing various species of natural enemies to combat major regional pests for several years in the region. These bio-factories, located in California and Michigan, USA, and Querétaro, Mexico, have expanded the production, packaging, and distribution capacity of predatory insects, mites, and parasitic wasps within the North American cluster.

These natural solutions are specifically developed to address regional challenges, such as using native bumblebees for open field crop pollination and beneficial insects like Amblyseius swirskii(Swirski-Mite), Tamarixia triozae (Tamarixia), Catolaccus hunteri (Catopar), Geocoris punctipes (Geobug), Chrysoperla carnea (Chrysopa-L and Chrysopa-E), and Dalotia coriaria (Atheta), which effectively control local pests and facilitate entry into new markets and crops.

Accelerating growth for reliable supply
This expansion initiative focuses on empowering growers by ensuring a more reliable supply of advanced biological solutions tailored to their needs. The aim is to improve product availability, maintain consistent quality, and offer innovative solutions that address the real challenges faced by farmers and agricultural producers in the region. By bolstering operational capabilities, growers can count on a steady, high-quality supply of the biological products essential to their crops' success.

Mexico, the United States, and Canada not only share one of the world's most dynamic trade agreements, but they also benefit from access to cutting-edge natural crop protection and pollination solutions. These innovations, specifically designed to meet the demands of modern agriculture, support growers across North America in achieving sustainable and productive outcomes.
