Turkey: Investment guides for organized agricultural zones is officially ready

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has prepared an "Investment Guide" for entrepreneurs who want to invest in organized agricultural zones (OTB) that have been put into service, have gained legal personality, or are in the project phase.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is establishing OTBs in marginal lands and close to major cities, aiming for high efficiency and uninterrupted production, being environmentally compatible, having a strong infrastructure and operating with the principle of zero waste.

Work and operations are ongoing for 42 OTB projects in 61 provinces. Of the 42 OTBs that have gained legal personality, 20 will operate in animal production, 21 in plant production, and 1 in aquaculture. Of the 21 OTBs in the plant production area, 13 were planned as geothermal heated greenhouse OTBs.

The Balıkesir-Gönen OTB, which holds the title of the world's largest geothermal greenhouse OTB, will use 4 different renewable energy sources (wind, solar, geothermal, biomass). Production has begun in the Aydın-Efeler, Denizli-Sarayköy, Ağrı-Diyadin geothermal greenhouse OTBs. In addition, greenhouses have begun to be established in the Samsun-Bafra and Zonguldak-Çaycuma OTBs.
