On 25 October, Aad van Dijk passed away at the age of 76. Sons Aad and Ton van Dijk share this message on behalf of the family.
With great sadness, we regret to announce that our father, Aad van Dijk, passed away on Friday 25 October at the age of 76.
We remember Dad as a horticulturist per se. Someone who always put the sector, cooperation, and the collective above self-interest. Apart from his own horticultural business in Harmelen, he was always very actively involved in keeping the sector strong and future-proof. Full of passion, he has given substance to this in his own way through many (sector) boards, both regional and national.
He was therefore proud when he was appointed a member of the Order of Orange Nassau in 2007.
After selling the company, he deliberately took a step back but has always remained very interested and involved in horticulture in his own way.
There will be an opportunity to offer condolences on Wednesday 30 October from 7 pm to 8 pm at Albert Schweitzerhof 23, 3451 LZ Vleuten.
The funeral will take place on Friday 1 November at 10.30 am in St Willibrordkerk, Pastoor Ohllaan 34 in Vleuten. From 12.30 there will be a gathering in 't Wapen van Haarzuylen, Brink 2 in Haarzuilens. As a family, we will say goodbye to Dad privately from 15.00 hrs.
