The Ysleta school district wants to promote healthy eating habits among elementary school students by offering fresh fruits and vegetables during the school day.
Starting Tuesday, the Ysleta Independent School District will launch its Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program at eight schools, offering fresh produce to students on Tuesdays and Thursdays until May 29, 2025.
According to the Ysleta ISD, these campuses were awarded more than $200,000 by the Texas Department of Agriculture to purchase fruits and vegetables for the program.
