Launch of new greenhouse grown veggies and a sustainable packaging option

Traditionally, many new products are launched at IFPA's Global Produce & Floral Show that takes place in October each year. This year is no exception. Greenhouse grower Mucci Farms has submitted four items for the Fresh Ideas Showcase, a place where innovations are being displayed. Judges and a panel of retailers will review the showcases and select one winner for "Best Product Promo" and one winner for "Best Sustainable Packaging".

In addition to their new products, Mucci Farms is looking forward to sharing the proactive steps they've taken to enhance their operational efficiency, with a strong emphasis on sustainability at every level of the business.

New products
Dots Mini Grape Tomatoes are one of the new items. "This tomato is smaller in size but delivers the same satisfying crunch and bold flavor expected from a grape tomato," says Stephen Cowan, Senior Director of Sales with Mucci Farms. They are available in a 1-pint and a convenient 5-ounce snack-size top-seal package. "With the snacking category dominating the CEA space, this unique variety offers more convenience and versatility with a high flavor profile."

Also new are Senza Seedless Sweet Peppers. "They are completely seedless, which is very difficult to achieve with a pepper. As a result, Senza takes snacking to a whole new level. If you love mini peppers, the seedless version will save you so much time so you can just get to snacking." The new sweet pepper variety is offered in a 1-pound bag. Also on display will be the Organic Sapori Cocktail Tomato that is known for exceptional flavor and versatility.

Linerless Label packaging
On the packaging side, Mucci Farms will be reintroducing their Linerless Label series. The trays from this series are made from food grade kraft paperboard and fastened by a one-piece linerless label lid that is made from food approved paper label material. This packaging completely eliminates plastic. At the Atlanta event, Crawford Packaging will be doing a live demonstration at their booth C1809 and show how the packaging comes together. The packaging will also be on display at Mucci's booth, B439.

Visitors to Mucci's booth can expect to see all the new product offerings, including Dots Mini Grape Tomatoes, Senza Seedless Sweet Peppers, as well as the company's fastest growing item: Savorries Sweet Strawberry Tomatoes. "In addition to showing these exciting products, we expect the event to be a fantastic opportunity to present our ambitious growth strategy, including acquisitions, ongoing construction projects, and plans for future developments that will enhance local and regional production," finished Cowan.
