Drilling to start soon for Turkish greenhouse project

A signing ceremony held at the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) marked the decision to drill nine new geothermal wells for the Simav Agriculture-Based Specialized Greenhouse Organized Industrial Zone (TDIOSB) in Kütahya, Türkiye. A total of seven production wells and two reinjection wells will be drilled to supply energy to the greenhouses in the area.

During the ceremony, Simav Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STSO) President Seref Kazcioglu emphasized the importance of the state's support for this project, highlighting its significance for the future of the region.

Simav, rich in geothermal energy resources, is taking significant steps to utilize this potential in agriculture and greenhouse cultivation. The Simav TDIOSB project aims to boost regional development and promote the more efficient use of geothermal resources.

The project will cover an area of 1,185,000 m², with 44 greenhouse plots and 16 industrial plots. These greenhouses will be equipped with technological systems and heated by geothermal energy. Additionally, in the 69,158 m² industrial facilities area, agricultural processing and packaging facilities will play an important role in regional agricultural production.
