UK: Requirements for plant imports, packing and loading updated

Guidance has been developed to support trade regarding safe and effective packaging and loading of loose loads (plants and plant products) to ensure that efficient inspections can be undertaken by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) at Border Control Posts (BCPs) and Control Points (CPs). The information includes guidance on packaging/labeling and loading.

When sending parcels to other businesses, please be aware that these parcel movements are subject to the same import controls that apply to other commercial imports of plants and plant products into Great Britain. These controls include the categorization of commodities into high, medium (A&B), and low-risk, phytosanitary certificates for medium and high-risk goods, border checks, and the requirement for pre-notification on IPAFFS for most imports.

Please see the Plant Health Portal for further information.
