Big news in sight for the berry sector

In 2024, Molari and G-Berries have embarked on several projects with several innovations and sustained efforts in terms of business investments. The year 2025," say Luca and Matteo Molari, "will be the year in which we consolidate some important positions at a European and intercontinental scale. The synergy between our two companies is becoming stronger and stronger: they are two separate and distinct realities, but with the same objective. G-Berries is experiencing strong growth worldwide. The Morocco Easy Club has officially started and we will finally see the excellent EasyRock® and EasyStar® surfaces; the same is happening with the Mexico Easy programme. These two countries are clearly the first focus for next year. A nice milestone for G-Berries will be the launch of a commercial license in India."

Blackberry is another important priority. "As a Molari company, we are investing a lot in promoting new material unique to this species, such as the reblooming variety Danna, which is attracting a lot of interest. In the case of blackberries, we have a nice novelty in the pipeline that will be ready for the market; and finally, for blueberries, the objective for 2025 is to grow. Today we have an excellent range of varieties, with varieties suitable for both the southern regions (Cupla and Ventura) and the northern regions (Duke, Cargo, Valor, Top Shelf and others). The second half of 2025 will see the first trials of the new southern highbush varieties included in the Naike Blueberry Club, which were presented last year at Fruit Attraction and are now ready to be observed in the field. The target countries are Italy, Spain, Portugal and Morocco."

The two brothers continue: "An important point is the redefinition of the team. As of next year, we will have a structure dedicated to the management of the different areas. The commercial activities in the area of variety development will be led by Alessandro Gualandi (Variety Development Manager of G-Berries), who will focus on Morocco, Mexico, Poland and the United Kingdom, together with Monia Dall'Ara, Molari's Managing Director, who will lead all the group's commercial activities. They will be supported by Valeria Girlando for the Mediterranean area (Spain, Portugal, Greece) and Jacopo Giuliani (Italy, Germany, Austria and other Central European countries)."

"But that's not all: we're also developing a variety improvement plan called the GIL. We are currently evaluating the company that will occupy the eighth and last available place, and next spring the first Europe-wide trials of some new selections will begin. We are very excited about the results of the panels held in September and the increasing involvement of buyers and stakeholders. G-Berries will continue to invest in completing the new research centre and expanding the workforce."
