UK: Using commercial greenhouse systems during the cold months

As we enter the cooler seasons, UK farmers are increasingly looking towards greenhouses to make the prospect of year-round growing a reality.

This year's mixed and suboptimal weather conditions for agriculture created a rise in demand for weather-independent ways to grow crops.

As seen by greenhouse control system experts, Tomtech, more growers in 2024 are moving their operations under glass and creating the ideal growing environment with help from a greenhouse control system.

"With winter on the horizon, we are seeing more growers install environmental control systems into their greenhouse structures. With systems like ours, growers can create and maintain the ideal environment that produces high-yield crops – even throughout the cold, dark autumn and winter months" says Krzysztof Hernik, Managing Director at Tomtech.

Coupled with recent developments in commercial greenhouse design, specialist horticultural companies are creating new technology and products that provide even more value and control when growing in a greenhouse.
