Kazakh farmers will find it easier to sell organic products in EAEU countries as the Union establishes a common market for organic goods, simplifying trade among its members.
A roadmap for this initiative was approved in 2021, and a mutual recognition agreement for organic products is currently being developed. This agreement is expected to be signed in 2025, allowing producers to obtain certificates verifying that their products meet international standards, such as the "Codex Alimentarius." This will facilitate access to EAEU markets and boost Kazakhstan's export potential.
New export opportunities for local farmers are opened up by this development, as Kazakhstan's fresh vegetables can also be certified as organic and sold in EAEU markets without additional barriers.
