Profile Products has announced the addition of Ferdi van Elswijk to its Profile Growing Solutions (PGS) business. Profile welcomes van Elswijk as its global head of hydroponics. Ferdi will work closely with Dr. Michael Robeson, senior vice president of Profile's Innovation team, to expand the PGS hydroponics business.
"Ferdi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Profile," said Michael. "He's a lifelong, passionate horticulturist and has led high-performing international business efforts. He is highly competent, effective, and is the right person to lead our hydroponics business."
Ferdi is a 30-year veteran of the horticulture industry. Before joining Profile, van Elswijk spent the last seven years working for Koppert Biological Systems as a key account manager for North America and crop team manager of hydroponic vegetables. He obtained significant operational and grower experience as part of the Prominent Growers Association for 11 years.
"I have been honored a role in which I can support the high-tech horticulture sector in the transition to natural hydroponic substrates. It resembles some of the challenges I tackled at Koppert, but it also offers the opportunity for me to further expand my knowledge in this specific field. With the practical experience I've gained over the combined 27 years at Koppert and Growers' Association Prominent, I am very excited about this new challenge at hand", Ferdi says.
