Royal Peterson and Control Union

Majority stake Delphy acquired

Royal Peterson Control Union Group has acquired a majority stake in Delphy. Delphy will become part of Peterson Projects and Solutions, which focuses on consultancy and knowledge activities, including agriculture and horticulture.

Delphy is a consultancy business focused on optimizing the production of food and flowers worldwide through research, projects, data-driven crop management, consultancy, and training.

The acquisition will combine Delphy's deep domain expertise with the already established international network of RPCU offices, ensuring more countries and supply chains will benefit.

Jacco van der Wekken, Director at Delphy, said: "Delphy's management and shareholders have been looking for a solid partner with whom we can accelerate the use of our expertise and who will contribute to the expansion of Delphy. After a very careful process, the shareholders of Delphy Groep BV have chosen Control Union Group B.V. as their partner for the future.

"This acquisition is also a recognition of the quality and added value that we deliver as Delphy and we can make good use of the market opportunities in the future. With Peterson Projects and Solutions, Delphy Group will be strengthened into a world-leading knowledge company for the plant-based sectors."

Johan Maris, CEO of RPCU, added: "In our global interactions, we have observed for many years a growing demand for an independent consultancy that remains fully committed to the interests of the grower and their stakeholders - without compromise.

"An increasing number of countries want to be self-sufficient in food production, while at the same time, their need to respond to climate change and sustainability challenges is clear. Delphy's practical knowledge and expertise will be very helpful in solving these challenges."
