Adding greenhouses: Traditions Apiary and Produce looking to double size of business

Located just outside of Coleman, this fast-growing business provides fresh produce to a community lacking access to local fruits and vegetables.

Traditions Apiary and Produce started in 2019 with only beehives and, by 2020, opened its first small roadside stand offering honey and watermelon. Now, the business, located at 5135 W. Pere Marquette Road, is planning to at least double in size with several greenhouses, a UPick flower garden, a produce shed, and more.

After a very successful year in 2024, the business is looking to grow even more by putting up two more greenhouses, building a new and larger produce shed, and expanding its flower gardens by double or even triple their current size.

In addition to shopping for various vegetables, visitors to Traditions Apiary can use the UPick flower garden or purchase flowers in hanging baskets or pots. Kimball also has a space in the greenhouse where local vendors can display and sell their products.
