Ontario Plants Propagation opens new facility

Next week, Ontario Plants Propagation will open its new state-of-the-art facility in Glencoe, Ontario, Canada. To celebrate the unveiling of the new facility, they will host an event on October 8 - 9, 2024.

Ontario Plants Propagation is active in producing starter plants for greenhouse growers in Canada and the United States and the new Glencoe facility is their second production site, in addition to their existing facilities in Sint Thomas.

Work on the greenhouse started this year and the new 13-acre facility has now been completed. With a foundation in biosecurity and automation, the facility includes six acres of solar panels and a 40 million liter pond, capturing rooftop rainwater, and a highly automated transport system. "Once operational, the greenhouse will produce millions of high-quality, clean and cost-effective starter plants for growers in the US and Canada", the team shares.

The launch will coincide with the Canadian Greenhouse Conference, presenting an opportunity to take part in both events. "This is your chance to take a peek of our cutting-edge facility, mingle with industry leaders, and reconnect with friends and colleagues in an atmosphere buzzing with excitement", the team says.

The official ribbon-cutting will take place on Tuesday, at approximately 10 AM, but each day the facility is open between 8:00 am - 6:00 PM. In addition to the new facility, several suppliers will show their products.
