Greenhouses to be pre-notified of power and gas outages in Uzbekistan

From October to December 2024, greenhouse operations in Uzbekistan will have the option to pay for gas in two installments. The President has signed a decree aimed at supporting the greenhouse operations in Uzbekistan amid energy supply instability.

Under the new regulations, the prepayment for gas will be set at 50% for October, November, and December, with the remaining balance due by the end of each month. Starting January 2025, the prepayment will revert to 100%.

Companies "Hududgazta'minot" and "Regional Electric Networks" are required to notify greenhouses about any decreases in gas pressure or outages at least 24 hours in advance, except in cases of force majeure.

Additionally, the "Uzenergoinspections" will be tasked with improving energy efficiency in greenhouses and implementing energy-saving solutions. Special attention will be given to businesses with strong energy efficiency performance.
