Canada: Greenhouse giant's birthplace sold for $11.5M

The original location of Delta-based greenhouse vegetable grower Windset Farms at 29904 Downes Road, Abbotsford, sold on June 21 in an off-market transaction for $11.5 million. The 38.6-acre estate includes a 5,778-square-foot home with a picturesque pool and yard for entertaining. Zoned A1, the property's agricultural assets include a state-of-the-art four-acre glass greenhouse, two-layer barns, multiple double-decker barns for broiler chickens, and a second home.

The poultry barns have not been used for many years. A local farmer purchased the property to expand their operation. Gord Houweling and Rajin Gill of BC Farm and Ranch Realty Corp. represented the seller while Harjot Riarh with Sutton Group West Coast Realty represented the buyer.
