A seminar was recently held in the Kibrai district, organized by ISCAD, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, and JICA, with support from Japan's international cooperation efforts, focusing on the business potential of berry cultivation. Discussions covered modern methods of breeding, pest control, cultivation technologies, transportation, and product distribution.
One of the key success stories highlighted was the experience of the company "Future Farmers." Its head shared positive results from growing raspberries on 3.5 hectares. The company utilizes both greenhouses and open fields for planting. The chosen raspberry variety, "Caramelka," adapted to local conditions, has shown yields of over 7 tons per hectare. Their products are mainly sold in markets and retail chains in the capital and Tashkent region, with plans to expand exports to Russia.
The seminar also addressed important issues such as financial support for farmers, including preferential loans, greenhouse construction, and the use of water-saving technologies.
