Tas Paprika has started the expansion that was in the pipeline in Luttelgeest. On land purchased a few years ago, foundation work started this week, greenhouse builder Voorwinden Group reveals.
A total of 33 hectares of greenhouse is planned. The pepper growers will have two greenhouses built in 2025 and another one the following year, grower Onno Tas shares. "November 2025 starting the first crop is the goal," he said.
Besides expansion of the greenhouse area, a new shed will also be added, and of course the energy and water supply will also be expanded, among other things.
The pepper grower's expansion will take place in the Nieuwland greenhouse area, in the Noordoostpolder between Luttelgeest and Marknesse. It is the same area where colleague Hoogweg Paprikakwekerijen is also expanding. This grower is also building.
Both pepper growers are members of the Oxin Growers cooperative. Both growers also use geothermal heat. In the case of Tas Paprika in cooperation with fellow grower Bernhard, with whom the Geothermal Heat Combination Luttelgeest has been set up.
