Greenlevation Ltd., a greenhouse operation based in Ukraine, has introduced a year-round crop conveyor system to enhance labour efficiency and maximize productivity. With 20 greenhouses in operation, the company employs workers throughout the year to manage the cultivation of 2-3 different crops. This approach ensures consistent employment and minimizes staff turnover. "If we grow only strawberries, the staff will only be able to work for a few months a year. We cannot not pay people money, otherwise they will look for a second job and will not work for you. Therefore, we have directions that bring profit several times a year."
The cultivation cycle at Greenlevation Ltd. starts in winter with the planting of tomatoes. This is followed by the cultivation of strawberries, both of which yield profits in the spring. The operation then transitions to producing strawberry seedlings, followed by a second cycle of tomato cultivation, and concludes with grape cultivation.
Grapevines require attention even in winter, including pruning and tying.
