Sakata to showcase 14 new varieties at Field Days 2024

For the 2024 edition of the Field Days in the Netherlands (24-26 September 2024, Tolweg 13 - 1681 ND Zwaagdijk-Oost), Sakata will be showcasing 14 new varieties, alongside an area dedicated to spinach, a hydroponic demonstration, an onion display, and more than 100 vegetable varieties perfectly adapted to Northern European growing conditions.

The 14 new varieties meet the key requirements of growers such as disease resistance, strong bolting resistance, holding ability, high yield, uniformity, processing constraints, long shelf life, and flavor. This new product range includes beet, bunching onion, cabbage, cauliflower, collard spinach, squash and turnip.

Spinach is a big hit this year with 9 varieties presenting a full package to Pe 1-20, the star of the range being Figaro F1 with its strong bolting resistance. The hydroponic demonstration will feature pak choi. The onion display will focus on 3 varieties offering good storage potential, a unique red color, and uniformity.

Over 100 varieties with proven performance will be showcased, all ideal for growing conditions in northern European countries. A range of 13 crops will be presented: beet, broccoli, purple sprouting broccoli, bunching onion, cabbage, cauliflower, collard, daikon, red radish, spinach, squash & pumpkin, Swiss chard and turnip.

Sakata combines ancestral know-how and high technologies to create vegetable varieties that meet customer requirements and consumer demands, thus contributing to improving global nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
