US (IN): Superior Fresh acquires AquaBounty's Indiana facility

Superior Fresh, a land-based Atlantic salmon producer, has acquired AquaBounty's aquaculture facility in Albany, Indiana for US$9.5 million.

The company has a mission to expand its production capabilities and enhance product availability nationwide. It is exploring future RAS expansions at both its flagship facility in Hixton, Wis. and the newly acquired Albany, Ind. facility.

"Our acquisition of the Albany, IN facility, is a testament to our commitment to sustainable aquaculture and our vision to lead the North American industry in land-based salmon production," said Brandon Gottsacker, CEO of Superior Fresh. "This facility will increase our production capacity, allowing us to meet the growing demand for our premium Atlantic salmon while maintaining the highest standards for healthy and quality seafood."
