India: Training and demonstration for growers

ATMA Medziphema Block Technology team led by BTM visited Molvom village under Medziphema block on August 28 and conducted two demonstration programs- "Demonstration on the installation of Yellow sticky trap for the control of Thrips and white flies in Pineapple Farm" and "Demonstration on Installation of Ant bait to manage ant population in Pineapple Farm".

A press release by the block informed that amidst the urgent need for control of Thrips and Ants infestation in the Pineapple farm, resource persons, BTM, Chubatsur Jamir, and ATM, Nengkhonem, educated farmers on the organic approach.

Altogether 18 pineapple farmers participated in the demonstration program. Wokha: ATMA Wokha Chukitong Block conducted a demonstration on nursery seedbed preparation at Yimkha and a training on "Natural Farming" on August 28.

A press release by Block Technology Manager (BTM), Chukitong Block, Wokha, Abeni Patton informed that the first demonstration was seedbed preparation at Yimkha by resource person, Assistant Technology Manager (ATM) Zachamo Humtsoe. He explained the importance of seedbed preparation and demonstrated the process. He also introduced natural farming, discussed its advantages and importance, and encouraged using local natural fertilizers.
