Mexico: More than 12km of hanging gutters to produce strawberries to be installed

Over the next few weeks, Hydroponic Systems will implement a new project in Mexico, installing a total of 12,168 linear meters of its Evolution system, consisting of an Elevated Spacer and a metal gutter. This system will be distributed in eight lines per bay, covering a total area of 1.5 hectares, and will be suspended from the reinforced structure of the greenhouse.

The Evolution system, patented by Hydroponic Systems, consists of a strong, sturdy metal gutter that collects drainage and conveys it off-line for disinfection, allowing growers to reuse water and fertilizers, saving considerable amounts of these vital resources. Above the gutter, a Spacer lifts the substrate bags with minimal surface area, facilitating drainage and preventing water from pooling near the roots.

Benefits for Strawberry Production
Thanks to this hydroponic equipment, the client will be able to grow the highest quality strawberries, positioning themselves as a market leader in Mexico. The combination of the metal gutter and the Spacer ensures that the plant roots remain isolated and free from undesirable contact with soil dirt, excessive moisture, puddles, and other factors that could cause diseases and production losses.

The efficiency of the Evolution system ensures that the roots are not affected by adverse conditions, resulting in healthier and more productive plants. Hydroponic Systems' clients in Mexico will be able to achieve a minimum production of 1.5 kg of strawberries per plant, similar to other satisfied clients around the world who already use this system.

Sustainability and Resource Savings
A crucial aspect of the Evolution system is its ability to promote sustainability in agriculture. The collection and disinfection of drainage allow for efficient use of water and fertilizers, resources that are increasingly valuable in modern agriculture. This method not only reduces operational costs but also minimizes environmental impact, aligning with sustainable and responsible agricultural practices.

Impact on Mexican Agriculture
The implementation of this project in Mexico represents a step forward in the modernization of agriculture in the country. The adoption of advanced technologies like the Evolution system not only improves the quality and quantity of agricultural production but also opens new opportunities for local farmers. The production of high-quality strawberries can meet both national market demands and export requirements, contributing to economic growth and rural development.

In conclusion, Hydroponic Systems' project in Mexico is an example of how technological innovation can transform agriculture. With 12,168 linear meters of hanging gutters and a system designed to optimize resource use and improve production quality, this project promises not only high-quality strawberries but also a more sustainable and prosperous future for agriculture in Mexico.
