Cherry tomatoes are the only exception to the decline in tomato cultivation

Tomatoes are one of the most popular Swiss vegetables. Most tomatoes come from Swiss production. Cherry tomatoes are an exception, as the proportion of imported tomatoes is higher than domestic production.

Cherry tomatoes are also becoming increasingly popular: domestic production of cherry tomatoes has doubled since 2010. Tomato production as a whole, on the other hand, is declining.
