Local propagation wine grape plants for growing wine market

Alexander Van Acker (31) is the only grower of wine grape plants in Belgium and the Netherlands. He does this in addition to propagating trees. The wine plants are a hobby that got out of hand. "I have a small vineyard of my own, and have taken some courses to learn more," says Alexander from Viterra at VILT. The wine sector in Belgium is growing, but there is nowhere to buy grape plants in Belgium or the Netherlands, he observed. "There is a big demand for plants adapted to our climate and soils."
