Lievaart Expeditie

"Everything comes under one roof, allowing us to serve our customers even better"

Lievaart Expeditie is moving to new premises in Naaldwijk. The company has long been a household name for transport in flowers and plants, but now it is also time to become truly visible, says Jan Willem Lievaart.

"Currently, the new 20,000 m² building is being built on the former site of the Pyramid at Royal FloraHolland. We always used to be at the auction and that's where all our clients are. Now we are still in De Lier, which means a lot of driving back and forth between De Lier and Westland. Soon we will be back at the auction itself and therefore a lot closer to the customers."

Time gain
One of the most important advantages for Lievaart will be the gain in time. Now, goods are still loaded at the client's premises in the afternoon and then everything is grouped to go to Italy. According to Jan Willem, this will become a lot more efficient with the arrival of the new premises: "Part of our new premises will also be rented out to exporters we are already driving for, which means the trade will remain indoors. So we no longer have to drive to certain companies at the auction, which in turn saves time. If a truck can leave earlier, it also saves hours for our employees working in our company, they can go home earlier in the day and don't have to work long days."

Facilities
Besides the exporters that will be housed indoors, the premises will also have various facilities such as parking spaces on the roof and plenty of greenery in the area. In addition, solar panels will be used for a sustainable energy supply and the multifunctional new premises will be connected to the auction through internal connections. On-site truck maintenance will also be possible.

Milestone
"My children are also entering the business, which means it is time for me to do a little less. For them, it is a nice stepping stone in this new phase we are entering. We are now becoming a highly visible company, and therefore we also have good expectations," Jan Willem says. "This new step marks an important milestone in our growth and enables us to serve our clients even better."
