Coöperatie Hoogstraten and FruitMasters end investigation into possible cooperation

Grower cooperatives Koninklijke FruitMasters from the Netherlands and Belgium's Coöperatie Hoogstraten are ending their investigation into possible forms of cooperation.

In November last year, FruitMasters' Supervisory Board and the Governing Body of Coöperatie Hoogstraten agreed to a course of action to explore possible ways of cooperation. At the time, no real schedule was put forward, but a positive outcome was expected in 2024. However, the in-depth talks following this announcement revealed that the differences in terms of the timeline were too big. The insights that were gained forced both parties to set other priorities in the short term.

Coöperatie Hoogstraten and FruitMasters want to emphasise that they are parting on good terms. "The talks always took place in a constructive setting, with great mutual respect. In a rapidly changing fresh produce sector, both organisations will continue their journey towards a future-proof cooperative. They will also remain open-minded when investigating the added value of cooperation."
