Smurfit Kappa and WestRock merge to create Smurfit Westrock

A packaging giant born from a merger

Smurfit Westrock plc, a big player in sustainable packaging operating in 40 countries and boasting over 500 production plants and over 100,000 employees, was born from the merger of Smurfit Kappa and WestRock. The new group has the unique ability of supplying its clients with the most diversified, innovative and sustainable range of renewable and recyclable solutions.

Smurfit WestRock plc also announced its quotation at the New York Stock Exchange under the 'SW' ticker, which occurred after the merger on July 5, 2024. The company also has a standard quotation at the London Stock Exchange under the 'SWR' ticker.
