On Thursday, at the Erenhot Port of Entry in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (Northern China), 22 refrigerated container trucks loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables were prepared for shipment to neighboring Mongolia after customs inspection.
Erenhot is the largest land border crossing between China and Mongolia. According to customs data, since the beginning of this year, over 60,000 tons of fruits and vegetables worth approximately 40 million USD have been delivered to Mongolia through Erenhot.
Since the start of this year, Mongolia's demand for Chinese fruits and vegetables, including bell peppers, cucumbers, broccoli, apples, pears, bananas, and other agricultural products, has been steadily increasing.
To ensure the freshness of agricultural products for importers, a "green corridor" was launched at the Erenhot Port of Entry in 2018, featuring a fast-track customs inspection and clearance process "without waiting and delays." Since its opening, a total of 607,600 tons of fruits and vegetables have passed through the checkpoint, according to customs statistics.
