Dutch grower expands to 90 hectare with neighbour acquisition

Schenkeveld has reached an agreement with Gebroeders van der Lelij to purchase the 7.3-hectare nursery in Den Hoorn. This location is adjacent to the Schenkeveld Den Hoorn site on Veenakkerweg.

With this acquisition, Schenkeveld is fulfilling part of its growth ambitions and can further optimize the organization and energy management of both locations. From December 1, 2024, the pepper nursery, which is currently still under cultivation, will be transferred, after which the cultivation system will be converted to cucumber cultivation.

With this step, Schenkeveld will expand to a total area of 90 hectares. This aligns perfectly with the growth and optimization path that has been mapped out. "We thank Arjan and Izaak van der Lelij for the opportunity to take over the nursery and wish them both every success in the future."

The growth offers opportunities for the continued development of current employees, as well as for attracting new colleagues. Schenkeveld is therefore actively seeking new hires.
