two tanks with a capacity of 50 tonnes of liquid CO₂

Dutch grower invests in CO2: three 50 tonnes tanks

On June 18, in collaboration with Harvest House, CO₂ tanks and evaporators were installed at pepper grower 4Evergreen in both Steenbergen and Sint-Annaland.

In Steenbergen, this involved two tanks with a capacity of 50 tonnes of liquid CO₂ each. An evaporator capable of handling 3,000 kg per hour was also installed.

In Sint-Annaland, a 50-tonne tank with an evaporator capable of handling 2,000 kg per hour was chosen. These tanks and evaporators were built in Turkey and then transported by road to the Netherlands. They are double-walled, vacuum-insulated tanks with an empty weight of 22 tonnes and an operating pressure of 23 bar.

The installation of the tanks was carried out by Kraanbedrijf Heeren using two telescopic cranes. In the coming weeks, piping will be laid, controls installed, and fencing erected around the tanks.

Last autumn, grower Dennis Grootscholte of 4Evergreen was looking for CO₂ for the large pepper company with several locations in the Netherlands.
