"Greenhouses are art"

There sometimes seems to be increasing criticism of greenhouses, or more broadly, greenhouse farming. This post, about an exhibition, serves as a boost in that respect.

Venlo resident Marcel Tabbers became fascinated by the glass horticultural greenhouses he encountered. His photos can now be admired at Gallery S.A.C. in Maastricht.

Tabbers' photo series caught the attention of the gallery staff, who invited him to exhibit.

On his daily walks with his dog, Marcel Tabbers (born in 1975) took pictures of his surroundings. His attention was always drawn to the many horticultural greenhouses in 't Ven and Bultenven. He was captivated by the interplay of lines in the construction and the effect of the glass, which always gives the greenhouses a different appearance.

The photo exhibition of greenhouses can be seen in Maastricht, at Gallery S.A.C. The exhibition runs until June 30. Address: Rechtstraat 80 in Maastricht-Wyck.
