Simon Grimaud, Anjou Automation

“Thanks to our software this climate computer can be adapted to both glass greenhouse- and plastic greenhouse-crops”

"Currently, we are experiencing the effects of climate change which bring new challenges for growers. Therefore, climate management has become increasingly important," says Simon Grimaud from Anjou Automation. This French company is active in the greenhouse climate regulation market, and the automotive industries. The company is based in Montagne sur Sèvre, and emphasizes that all its products are made in France. The company's main market is Europe. Recently, they introduced their new climate and irrigation controller, OPTAGROW. In this article Simon gives us an overview of this computer and its features.

Anjou Automation saw the light of day in 1982. From that time onwards the company has developed a range of equipment including climate regulators, weather sensors, irrigation programmers, and fertilization stations. Now their latest addition is the Optagrow. Simon comments: "As the climate changes quickly, we felt the need to develop a product that helps growers with climate management."

Adaptability
According to Simon, it's the software that makes the Optagrow stand out, saying: "We developed software that allows the Optagrow to be used in glass greenhouses and plastic greenhouses. In glass greenhouses the computer can be adapted to crops such as tomatoes and cucumbers, and in plastic greenhouses it is adaptable to for instance strawberries. The software is integrated into the Optagrow."

User-friendliness
Aside from highlighting the computer's adaptability, Simon points out that the Optagrow is designed to be user-friendly. "We want to help growers managing their greenhouses and crops. For this reason, we sought to develop a product that is easy to use, that is understandable for every grower. In other words, the Optagrow's interface, and logic of setting had to be user friendly."

To this end, the climate computer has a 15'6 color touch screen, which makes it easy to use directly when you are in the greenhouse. The remote access on smartphone and computer is complementary to this. Moreover, the computer has configurable inputs and outputs. And last but not least, the 'Favorites' functionality ensures that growers have easy access to their menus."

GreenTech
Recently, GreenTech visitors had the chance to see the Optagrow computer with their own eyes. Anjou Automation showcased their latest innovation at this trade fair in Amsterdam.
