Strawberry farming in Ukraine with a government grant

Two entrepreneurs from Zhmerynka, Ukraine Vyacheslav Roman and Oleg Britansky, have joined forces to cultivate strawberries. They got government grants and leased land for their greenhouses.

Operating in Tartak village, they grow strawberries in both open fields and greenhouses, benefiting from a grant to expand their greenhouse operations after suffering losses from a storm that damaged their facilities.

Vyacheslav Roman acknowledges the inherent risks in strawberry cultivation, citing weather conditions as a major factor affecting yield stability, even in controlled environments.

Despite protective measures like covering crops with agronomic fabric, challenges persist, such as fluctuating market prices and intense competition.
