NL: 45 helpful citizens help retract basin tarpaulin at grower's premises

On Tuesday morning by Broersen, with the help of 45 men and women, the canvas was laid in the basin. They responded to an appeal posted on Facebook last week. "Within a few days, we were already at the desired number of people," says Broersen.

Now, as far as the growers are concerned, another big rainfall is allowed. In total, the new basin provides 5.5 million liters of additional water storage. In total, Broersen can now store 7.5 million liters of water. Rainwater falling on the barn and greenhouses also enters the basin. "In drier periods, this gives us enough water supply for strawberry cultivation," he said.

The volunteers' work was rewarded on Tuesday after the event, including a cake on the terrace.
