Italian grower exports 90% of its production

Italian Sprout specializes in organic seeds produced in Italy. Founded in 2021, the company quickly carved out a significant space in the sector, exporting 90% of its production. "We market organic seeds for growing sprouts and microgreens," states Ramon Colombo, the company's manager. "We have an extensive catalog available and a thriving e-commerce visited by people from around the world."

Italian Sprout relies on growers located in the most suitable Italian areas for seed production. It's no coincidence that the company is based in Cesena, one of the national hubs for seed houses.

"Our seeds are all certified organic," continues Colombo, "and we have dozens of references. Customers can call us or, more likely, purchase directly from our e-commerce. We package and ship. The clients for microgreen seeds often belong to the restaurant sector. In Northern European countries, it's very common to produce microgreens on-site, in specific modules, cultivated directly, and then prepared for menu dishes."

"Microgreens," adds Colombo, "are increasingly popular because they can be harvested year round. They are relatively easy to grow and do not require special spaces or care. They are convenient, tasty in the kitchen, and valuable for their nutritional values, making them perfect for chefs, food enthusiasts, and those who care about their health. Fresh sprouts from organic seeds are a very nutritious addition to salads, sandwiches, and snacks."

Germany, France, Northern Europe, and Eastern European countries are among the areas where seeds for sprouts and microgreens are most in demand. "Sprouts and microgreens contain up to 40 times more nutrients, by weight, compared to the same adult plant. This is why they are also increasingly sought after by those who follow a particular, health-conscious diet," concludes Colombo. .
