Podillya, Ukraine. As a result of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops in 2022, many Ukrainians had to seek new places to live and opportunities for earning a living. One of them was Eduard Malchenko, originally from the Kharkiv region, who moved with his wife to Podillya in the Ternopil region.
Being a qualified biologist, Eduard decided to use his knowledge and energy to create his own business. He started by setting up the first greenhouse in May, and by June, there were already eleven. The first harvest of cucumbers and tomatoes was successful, but he didn't stop there.
Today, his company, LLC "Podillya Vegetables," boasts 42 greenhouses and 12 hectares of land under cultivation. Eduard has proven to be not only a bold entrepreneur but also a skilled manager who works with intelligence and foresight.
The company's produce, including radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, and peppers, is sold at markets and supermarkets in regional centers and the capital. In just two years, "Podillya Vegetables" has achieved impressive results.
In its rapid development, the company received support from the grant competition "Course for Independence," organized by Astarta-Kyiv in collaboration with the government of Germany and other partners. The grant equipment helped automate processes and increase crop yields.
