One project in execution is in the UAE: a 44-hectare polyhouse project. "We are excited about this project's potential to enhance agricultural productivity and serve as a model for similar initiatives in similar climates."
According to Elad, the team at Gakon Netafim and Netafim, part of Orbia's Precision Agriculture, is committed to advancing greenhouses to tackle the challenges in agriculture. "Such as scarcity of water and arable land, the difficulty of finding labor, and the unpredictable impacts of climate change. Orbia recognizes these challenges and has identified greenhouses as a strategic engine for future expansion, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable agricultural solutions that promise to enhance productivity and serve as a blueprint for addressing global agricultural challenges effectively."
Greenhouse business webinar
The team will organize a Greenhouse webinar on March 5th. "Promoting more sustainable, localized production is crucial for ensuring our food security. Commercial greenhouses offer a sustainable solution for producing local produce, capable of yielding 8-10 times more per acre compared to open field production while reducing water and fertilizer usage by up to 90%", Elad continues. "We want to help growers seize these opportunities and help improve the global food security."
Those unable to join can find more information online or get in touch with our local representative.
