The horticulture fair HortiContact has announced the names of the 10 nominated innovations for the HortiContact Innovation Award 2024. The winner will be announced on Thursday, March 7 at 4 p.m. during the last fair day of HortiContact 2024. Contestants were in total 17, of which those 10 only made it through.

The nominees for the HortiContact Innovation Award 2024 are 4More Technology (4MT Buffer Station), Beaulieu International Group (RECOVER), Houweling Horticulture (Backie snail trap), Photon Dancing BV (Horticultural LED lamp with Infra Red), Led-E-Lux (Horti Optimal Concept), DCM (DCM Vital Plant Strategy), Huisman Screensystems (Dynamic pull wire), Source.AG (Source Control), Sprinkler (Model SE450W) and Mechatronix (Coolgrow VF).

These ten nominated innovations scored best based on several criteria, such as 'How innovative is the product?', 'Does it respond to current events in the sector?', 'What is its distinctive character?' and 'Does it help the sector advance?'. From now on, visitors can vote for their favorite via the HortiContact website. You can also vote in the Tunnel of the Future using the Smartbadge that every visitor receives upon arrival at the fair. Ultimately, all votes will be added together and the ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 7 at 4 p.m.

All entries showed that it is not without reason that Dutch greenhouse horticulture is the world leader in innovation and sustainability. How wonderful and valuable it is that we can give ten wonderful innovations a grand stage at HortiContact in the Tunnel of the Future,” said Lucas van't Hof on behalf of trade fair organizer Easyfairs Nederland.

New opening hours
The upcoming edition of HortiContact will be on March 5, 6 and 7, 2024 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. The opening hours have been adjusted: Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the times for Wednesday are unchanged: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
