Fruit vegetable growers are taking control of their own data

The Federation of Fruit and Vegetable Organizations (FVO) is set to participate in GreenlinQdata.

With the rise of sustainable initiatives, the impending implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), mandatory digital crop protection registration, and a growing amount of data-based certifications, it is becoming increasingly important for growers to collect and report accurate and transparent data about their sustainability efforts. GreenlinQdata offers an advanced platform that assists growers (fruit, vegetable, and ornamental horticulture) in effectively collecting, analyzing, and sharing this information.

The moment of signing

With this collaboration, the parties involved aim to enhance the opportunities for data-driven decision-making and efficiency within the sector. This development also strengthens all efforts linked to the HortiFootprint. There is a rising demand for clear ways to visualize the impact of a company and its products on the environment. FVO and GreenlinQdata hope to inspire other producers in the sector with this move and to promote the effective application of sustainability data.

Jelte van Kammen, General Manager of Harvest House, said the following on behalf of FVO: "As growers and a producer organization, we are increasingly collecting sustainability data about our cultivation and products. It is important that we, as a producer, remain in control over this data and determine who gets insight into it. By taking part in this platform, we'll be able to keep that control. The tool will also serve to standardize our sustainability data and allow us to use it as input for certifications. In short, it is an important joint step from FVO."

Berrie de Mik, General Manager of GreenlinQdata, also had something to say about the collaboration with FVO. "We welcome FVO as a shareholder of our supply chain data platform and crop registration application. We look forward to a future where digital registration and advanced sustainability reporting become the norm, allowing the sector to operate optimally in a data-driven environment. Together, we are working on boosting efficiency and innovation within the sector and the supply chain. Data is driving the growth of the entire sector."
