Netherlands: 7.2-ha greenhouse begins construction

Amid a winter scene, construction has begun on a 7.2-hectare greenhouse for Van Adrichem Nurseries. The tomato grower is expanding with the Westdorpe location.

Greenhouse builders Voorwinden and Havecon are busy with construction. Once the greenhouse is up, PDI will also come to Westdorpe to install screen cloths. Last year, PDI did this for two other greenhouses of the grower in Westdorpe, where an energy screen was added there too.

Sjoerd and Bas van Adrichem manage the Westdorpe location. "What we ultimately want to achieve is that without extra heat, a third greenhouse can get enough heat. A nice development," says Sjoerd after the installation of energy screens in the two existing greenhouses of the nursery in Westdorpe last year.
