The organizers of HortEx Vietnam 2024, which will take place from 13-15 March at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), are pleased to announce that the Netherlands Pavilion at HortEx Vietnam 2024 is booked to capacity.
The international organizer, Nova Exhibitions from the Netherlands, has been working closely with the Netherlands Embassy in Vietnam since the launch of the exhibition in 2018. The realization of the Netherlands Pavilion has been made achievable thanks to the Embassy's generous support and joint efforts of Nova Exhibitions and the Embassy.
The Dutch companies that will participate include: Ammerlaan Construction B.V., DanDutcH ApS, Hoogendoorn Growth Management, NLight, PUM Netherlands senior experts Ukelp (Abundigro) and Van Iperen International.
In the week after the HortEx Vietnam exhibition, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima will pay a state visit to Vietnam, at the invitation of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.
Concurrently with the state visit, there will be a dedicated economic mission concentrating on Agro, Food, Water, and Logistics.
This presents an exclusive chance for Dutch businesses to engage in the HortEx Vietnam exhibition from March 13 - 15 and be part of the trade mission in the subsequent week.
The state visit and economic mission underscore not only the robust relationship between the two nations but also highlight the economic potential of Vietnam.
Vietnam is a huge emerging market with a population of 100 million. Vietnam has the potential to achieve a GDP growth rate of 6-6.5% in 2024, driven by public investment, consumer spending, import-export recovery, and monetary policies. In addition, Vietnam is among nine nations in the world with the fastest growing middle-class in the coming decade. By 2030 Vietnam is expected to add 36 million people to its middle class. With these figures Vietnam is by far the fastest growing economy in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region. Thanks to the growing middle-class and exports the demand for safe and high-quality products is increasing year by year.
Vietnam and the Netherlands have been collaborating in agriculture for a long time. The agricultural sector is crucial for the Vietnamese economy, but it faces challenges such as climate issues, competition from other countries, a shortage of well-trained labor, and the need for sustainable development.
Vietnam considers the Netherlands a trusted and significant partner, particularly in the realm of sustainable agriculture. Increasingly, opportunities are emerging for Dutch companies, as well as knowledge and educational institutions. Both countries are delta nations and have robust gateways for international trade. In this context, the Netherlands serves as the primary gateway for agricultural products from Vietnam.
Vietnam, for example, offers many opportunities in: knowledge of sustainable food production while preserving nature (within the food system); logistic support for agriculture and horticulture; knowledge and innovation in climate-smart solutions, such as for agriculture / horticulture with limited freshwater and low water usage; techniques to address labor shortages; techniques to reduce the use of pesticides etc.
HortEx Vietnam is the first specialized International Exhibition and Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology in Vietnam and is expected to welcome more than 250 exhibitors from 25 countries and some 6.000 trade visitors from Vietnam and neighboring countries in Southeast Asia.
Companies interested to participate can still contact the organizer for an individual booth.
