Storm causes significant damage to greenhouses in Konya, Turkey

The strong wind following the heavy rain in the Kurtova District of Beyşehir province, Turkey, destroyed the 4,000-square-meter greenhouse where curly lettuce was planted, causing extensive damage.

Greenhouse owner Mehmet Evli said that the greenhouse in Çayır, where he grew curly lettuce, collapsed because it could not withstand the severe storm that started after the heavy rain in the region. Mehmet Evli said, “We were devastated because our greenhouse was destroyed. We estimate that our loss is around 30,000 USD. We will apply to our relevant institutions to receive support for compensation for our losses and to request an inspection study. I hope this kind of disaster will never happen again."

Mehmet Evli stated that he had previously grown strawberries in his greenhouse, which he established 3 years ago, and this year he had planted lettuce in his greenhouse. When the greenhouse was destroyed, the crops he planted were also damaged.
