Jesus Ortiz, COO with GROWA

"The surging berry demand, and the North American market growth are our focus points"

“The surging berry demand and the North American market growth are some of the focal points for our company as we approach 2024”, says Jesus Ortiz, COO of GROWA. “Canadian projects are demanding greenhouse systems tailored to the specific needs of the customer, knowledge, experience, quality, and technical service.” The rebranding of the company, formerly known as Stolze Mexico, to GROWA earlier this year signals a strategic shift in its identity, and currently, the company is actively engaged in various projects.

GROWA participated in the ExpoAgroalimentaria earlier this month and according to Jesus, it was a great success. “We had around 1,200 visitors to our booth, and we were able to offer our systems for several new clients with upcoming projects for 2024.” The team is optimistic about the upcoming year and looks forward to promoting the professionalization of the engineering department. “Many of our customers at the show were interested in our 3D Revit designs, one of the other services we offer”, he adds, resulting in the successful sale of multiple projects, including some even secured during the event.

Engineering has always been, and still is, a cornerstone of the company. “Our office in Spain is very busy, working over projects that are on the table and on process. A well-experienced team is committed to delivering a full package of drawings for mid and high-tech projects. Irrigation, heating, and Automation are the core disciplines for our company.”

Jesus says the mentioned demand in the berry market, the growth of the North American market, and the demand for tailored systems in Canada reflect potential areas of growth and opportunity for Growa Greenhouse Systems, to expand its market presence and offer specialized solutions including local service to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Acknowledging the contributions of Theo Stolze, co-founder, and manager of the Netherlands Facilities, Jesus expresses gratitude for his participation in the recent event. “We believe that our participation in the trade show has helped to raise awareness of our company and our products, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in the NA horticulture and soft fruit market.”
