In a pivotal move for greenhouse agriculture, 605 farmers' greenhouses received national standards certification, making owners eligible for subsidies. Government support discussions, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumanagarin, highlighted the introduction of subsidies for farmer-owned greenhouses this year. Currently, active in Shymkent and Turkistan, industrial greenhouse norms stand at 8.1 million tenge/ha (slightly more than 16 thousand euros) and 4.8 million tenge/ha (approximately 9.5 thousand euros) for farmer-owned greenhouses in Turkistan.
Vice Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov disclosed a 25% reimbursement for greenhouse projects, with plans to increase it to 30%. Subsidies cover fertilizer costs, excluding organics, pesticides, bioagents, biopreparations, irrigation water, and off-season heating.
The National Accreditation Center reports 142 applications under inspection.
Serik Zhumanagarin urged timely coal supplies for greenhouses before vegetable planting, emphasizing support for food security crops. Greenhouse areas are concentrated in Turkistan (824.2 ha), Almaty (79 ha), Zhambyl (23.2 ha), Mangystau (15.5 ha), Karaganda (43 ha), Aktobe (38 ha), Atyrau (15.6 ha), Shymkent (139.2 ha), and Almaty (11.1 ha).
Subsidy rules for crop yield and quality prioritize closed-ground crops, based on one rotation after successful seedling establishment.
