Slovenian retail market leader Mercator has signed a contract to acquire 100% of the shares in Engrotuš, which manages around 260 Tuš stores across the country. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed, although according to local reports, it is worth around €30mln. Chile: Cencosud profits fall nearly 15% as sales stumble
Chilean retailer Cencosud reported a 14.7% drop in third-quarter net profit, citing high borrowing costs and dampened consumption stemming partly from adverse weather in some markets. Net profit totaled $176mln for the period. Cencosud's revenues for the July-to-September period totaled $4.3bln, down 3.3% from a year earlier, the company said.
