UK: Charlecote Park displays hundreds of knitted pumpkins
Hundreds of hand-knitted pumpkins are on display at a National Trust site in response to concerns over food waste. More than 200 of the woolly, autumnal vegetables have formed a sustainable, seasonal display at Charlecote Park in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. The handmade crop has been knitted, felted, and crocheted by staff and volunteers over the past three months. The display in the Victoria Kitchen is open to visitors every day from 10:30 to 16:30 until Sunday, November 5.

Australia: Coles Q1 sales rise on at-home consumption but misses estimate
Inflation at Supermarkets declined to 3.1% during the quarter owing to easing prices of fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, and bakery items, boosting volumes. As a result, Coles' group sales revenue came in at A$10.25bln ($6.46bln) for the 13-week period ended September 24, higher than the A$9.89bln reported a year ago.

Sales in ICA Sweden's grocery retail business increased by 4.1% compared with the same quarter in 2022 at the same time as earnings development was stagnant and the margin fell from 4.7% to 4.5%. Study finds variety, cost can be barriers to children's vegetable consumption
Getting children to eat their vegetables is a common, longstanding challenge for parents and childcare providers alike. While some kids simply dislike the taste of veggies, a recent study sheds light on some other obstacles that prevent children from reaching their recommended daily nutritional needs. Saima Hasnin, who recently completed her doctoral program in child development and early childhood education at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, led her doctoral dissertation project to better understand family childcare home providers' preparation and serving of vegetables and their influence on children's vegetable consumption.
