"Severe storms caused considerable damage in various regions of Bavaria at the end of August. Horticultural businesses were also hit hard by hail, heavy rain, and thunderstorms, mainly in the Tegernsee region, especially here in the village of Benediktbeuern. The total damage runs into the millions," the Gartenbau-Versicherung writes.
"In order to support the affected members as quickly as possible, our experts were promptly on site. This allowed them to personally get an accurate picture of the situation and make initial estimates. Due to the magnitude of this event, staff from the claims department and risk consultants from other areas were also called in."
"Gartenbau Versicherung is fully committed to assisting its members and is working hard to settle claims quickly."
The VEREINIGTEN HAGEL has also been notified of more than 22,000 ha in the last ten days, 90 percent of which is in Bavaria. The damaged area stretches from the Neckar River and the Lake Constance region across the entire southern part of Baden-Württemberg and, above all, the Bavarian administrative districts of Swabia, Upper and Lower Bavaria, and parts of the Upper Palatinate to the Czech border. But the Lower Rhine and southeastern Rhineland-Palatinate were also affected.
In addition to traditional arable crops, fruit, grapevine, hops and vegetable plantations were again affected.
