Bella Vittoria F1 has already been chosen by various producers located along the coast of southern Sicily, including Azienda Agricola F.lli Firullo, whose greenhouses cover around 2 hectares in the Vittoria area.
"This is the first year we have chosen to take up the challenge of growing soilless eggplants, and we opted for Bella Vittoria F1 due to its characteristics and performance. The decision to grow soilless eggplants after years of growing soilless tomatoes proved successful. We opted for the March transplant and witnessed how Bella Vittoria F1 proved to be resilient, capable of withstanding the most challenging weather conditions with excellent results," reports Rosario Firullo, one of the three brothers.

But let us examine more in detail the distinctive characteristics of the produce. Bella Vittoria F1 eggplants have a long post-harvest shelf-life and are therefore suitable for the timeframes of Sicilian logistics, as the region is a long way away from the main European markets. The variety is also characterized by a bright deep purple color, an elegant round shape, and rusticity, which means it is rather tolerant of the high temperatures.
