New sprayable feed enhances the establishment of beneficial insects

Predafix+ is Bioline Agrosciences’ latest innovation for improving pest control in glasshouse crops. As the successful control of pests depends on the optimum establishment of introduced predatory mites in the crop. This unique sprayable formulation will improve the numbers of beneficial mites, their distribution, and homogeneity on the crop.

“Our primary considerations are our users and successful pest management, so we are delighted to present our 3rd generation complementary unique feeding product, Predafix+, designed to improve the establishment of predatory mites by facilitating a 3 to 5- fold increase in predatory mite numbers with minimal time and labor requirements. An increase in the beneficial mite population will be noticeable within one week,” says Caroline Reid, Senior Technical Lead over at Bioline Agrosciences.

What’s inside?
Predafix+ contains pure, sterilized eggs of an astigmatic mite on which predatory mites breed profusely and which is naturally present in many countries. Pure eggs are naturally hypoallergenic to humans and can be used on a wide range of crops and with several predatory mite species.

The patented solution is the result of 3-years’ worth of R&D and formulation technology and is the first and only sprayable beneficial insect food on the market right now. Predafix+ can be used with many types of application equipment and can be mixed with most fungicides and biopesticides, saving labor by reducing the need for separate applications.

It can be used on many crops, including cucumbers, strawberries, cut flowers, ornamentals, aubergines, melons, watermelons, and courgettes, and can be combined with several mite species, including Amblyline, Montyline, and Starskii.

Bioline Agrosciences will be present at Greentech Amsterdam 2023 at stand 01.148.
